What happened to music?

The majority of songs don't even make any sense. Sometimes they make up a word and use it over and over. Other times, they combine words in one sentence.

Example:

Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas

Seriously, what happened to music? Most of these songs don't even have any meaning, and even if they do have meaning you're forced to say "Okay, I get it now move on."

It's like artists think of a line and decide to use it 20 times in one song.

But this is just my point of view. What about you?

the majority? no. the black eyed peas? yes. pop may be messed up, but the good genres still run strong if you ask me.
